Suzanne Flowers
Suzanne Flowers, 76 of Doddridge, Arkansas, formerly of Hope passed into eternal rest Wednesday, September 25th, 2024, in Hope, Arkansas.
Ms. Flowers was born in Texarkana, Arkansas on February 2, 1948 to her parents Azelle McFerrin Cox and Allen Cox. Suzanne was their only daughter. Her precious mother passed when Suzanne was only eight years of age. As an only child Suzanne nurtured an affection and companionship with animals that was lifelong. She passed this along to her five children with the understanding that they would always have one another for support.
Suzanne leaves behind five loving children who were her world. She never missed an opportunity to tell others about her children and all they meant to her. Surviving their loving mother are Synthia Thomason Wilson (Denis) of Richmond, Texas, Gina Thomason Fisher (Blake) of Houston, Texas, Karen Thomason Blackwell (Blake) of Hope, Arkansas, Chris Thomason (Penny) of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Boo Flowers (Annie) of Doddridge, Arkansas. Grandchildren Zackary Saucier, Peyton Fisher, Brooke Blackwell, Bryce Blackwell, Sean Stokes, Michael Stokes, Allen Thomason, Coy Flowers and Will Flowers, and great-grandchildren Brenna Saucier, Graham Saucier, and Jane Saucier. Suzanne is also survived by one special cousin, Nettie Mae Solley who was there for her throughout her life.
Suzanne was a force of nature. Her strong personality and sharp sense of humor was tempered with compassion and love. she demonstrated a strong work ethic as a nurse in profession and devoted her work years in the mental health field.
A private family service will be held at the small country church where her parents are buried with her ashes interred next to them. The family request that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Hope Animal Shelter or Texarkana Animal Shelter.
