Emogene Hugg, 85, of Malvern

Ms. Emogene Hugg of Malvern, Arkansas left this life to go home and be with Jesus on October 11, 2024 at home with her family. She was 85 years young. Emogene was born in Pisgah, Arkansas, to Emry and Etherine McGalliard on September 13, 1939.

She married the love of her life, Norman Hugg of Blevins, Arkansas on July 3, 1958 and they shared 58 years of adventure, love, and family together. Emogene gave her life to God as a young girl. She followed her husband during his eight years in the U.S. Air Force until they settled at home in Arkansas. Emogene held a supervisory position at the Arkansas Children’s Colony in Caddo Valley, Arkansas then became a Licensed Social Worker for several nursing facilities including The Arkansas State Hospital, Longmeadow Nursing Home, and Carthage Nursing Home. She retired three times before she finally retired her career due to the first covid pandemic.

Emogene was preceded in death by her husband Coach Norman Brooks Hugg of Blevins, AR, her youngest granddaughter Patrishia Janelle Dockery, her Father and Mother, her brother Joe McGalliard (Jan), and her youngest sister Roxie Cox (Doug).

She leaves behind her sister Kathy Sullins (Dale), two daughters, Norma Jean Hugg and Darlene Angela Hugg McCauley (Jimmy Dale), Her oldest granddaughter Terrie Nichole Samples (Donny), two great grandsons Cody and Bryce Samples, two great  granddaughters Elizabeth Samples and Ivy Christian Dockery, grandsons Dale McCauley and Trey McCauley, and a host of dearly loved nieces and nephews, her sisters in law Carol Hugg Hines (Eddie),  Janice Hugg Salisbury (Leslie) and one brother in law Donald Hugg (Neysa).

Her farewell service will be held at Regency Funeral Home in Malvern, Arkansas on Friday October 18th, with the visitation from 10-11am, and the service starting at 11am, with Bro. Dennis Yarberry, Bro. Jimmy Robinson, and Lesley Salisbury officiating. Her graveside service will be at Marlbrook Cemetery in Blevins, Arkansas.

We hope that all friends and relatives will join us to wish her farewell until we see her again at Heaven’s gates.
