2024 Rendezvous at Prairie D’Ane open to the public on October 26
PRESCOTT – Join the Nevada County Depot & Museum and the Early Arkansaw Reenactors Association for the 5th Annual Prairie D’Ane Rendezvous, open to the general public on Saturday, October 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Take a stroll through time and experience life in early 19th century Arkansas with authentic demonstrations and crafts. Its rendezvous time again! The Nevada County Depot Museum and the Early Arkansaw Reenactors Association (EARA) Will co-host a camp-out for early American reenactors in October. The general public will be allowed to visit the encampment on October 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. only. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the lifestyles of pioneer Arkansans and learn about life during the territorial era. Reenactors wear period clothing using only the tools and supplies available in the early 19th century. There will be demonstrations highlighting traditional craftsmanship and skills such as weaving, flint knapping, and knife throwing. The event is open to the public on Saturday, October 26 only, so don’t miss it!
Prairie D’Ane is an 800 acre tract of a large natural prairie. The entrance is located at 2243 Highway 19 North in historic Prescott, Arkansas and is easily accessible from exit 46 on I-30. This National Register site was the location of a 4 day Civil War battle in April 1864. The Prairie D’Ane Battlefield is maintained by the Nevada County Depot Museum, which hosts reenactments and other living history events at the location year round.
