United Way Gala

The Hempstead County United Way held their annual gala at the Hope Country Club Thursday (9-17).  In addition to the fun activities, several people and entities were honored for their work.  The late Glenn Woodruff was honored as “Man of the Year”.  Linsey Kirkpatrick made that presentation to Tammie and Jillian Woodruff.  Grace Kirkpatrick was honored as “Woman of the Year” with Gina Perkins making that presentation.  “Agency of the Year” was Hempstead County 4-H with Shelley Short making that presentation.  “Volunteer of the Year” went to Dr. Brent Bennett with United Way President Dr. Carol Ann Duke making that presentation.

    This year’s theme was “A Night in Monoco”.
