Hempstead County Quorum Court meets

HOPE – The Hempstead County Quorum Court met Thursday (11-21). Three Ordinances were passed: one transferring funds from the Voluntary Tax/Deputy Salary Fund for the longevity fund for Certified Law Enforcement Officers. Another ordinance transferred ARPA funds to ARPA revenue replacement then to payroll accounts.
Bonnie Raff spoke to the Quorum Court about the important role native Americans had played in this country. She spoke about the Founding Fathers being invested in the Great Law of Peace of Iroquois being used in the US Constitution. Raff said while the main diet for tribes on this continent were corn, beans and squash there was a total of 300 different crops which they cultivated Raff talked about the mining and the crafting of gold and silver and the how their resources helped fuel the expansion of the country. Raff also mentioned each fold of the flag had words that were to be said with it.
