Hamilton Haven, Ferncliff Camp & Conference Center team to help local schools

PRESCOTT — Two nonprofits recently donated health and safety items to three local school districts.

Hamilton Haven and Ferncliff Camp & Conference Center worked together to deliver boxes of hand sanitizer to the Blevins, Nevada, and Prescott school districts.

Since April 2020 Hamilton Haven has provided emergency, temporary housing for displaced families and individuals. Ferncliff Camp & Conference Center, located west of Little Rock, was founded in 1937 as a place for youth and adults to gather and experience creation in community with one another.

“Thanks to Hamilton Haven for their donation of hand sanitizer to help keep our staff and students safe from sickness as the flu season approaches,” said Prescott School District communications director Valarie Cobb.

Hamilton Haven administrative assistant Leslie Hughes organized the project.

“We feel it’s important to give back to the community,” Hughes said. “The community is a big part of helping us carry out our mission, and we want to reciprocate.”

The effort provided more than 2,000 bottles of hand sanitizer, which also included deliveries to local entities such as the Nevada County Jail, Nevada County Library, and the Rotary Club.

“Hamilton Haven looks for ways to make a meaningful contribution to our community,” Hamilton Haven executive director Michele Hamilton Rhodes said.
