The new Nevada County officials were sworn in New Years Day at the Nevada County Courthouse. Circuit Judge Duncan Culpepper handled the swearing-in duties. First up was new District Judge Dana Stone. Constables sworn in included Nelson Irizarry for Alabama Township, Micha Stockton for Albany, and Ryan McBrayer for Emmet. The JPs were Dennis Pruit, Willie Wilson, Patricia Grimes, James Ray Cornelius, Eric Jackson, Herbert Coleman, Regina Irizarry, Todd Butler and Tommy Poole. The council members sworn in were Howard Austin, who just celebrated his 83rd birthday, Carla Haynie and Tony Gillard.
