Harold Eugene Rushing

Harold Eugene Rushing, age 80, of Hope, Arkansas passed away on February 3, 2025.
Mr. Rushing was born on January 16, 1945, in Henderson, Texas to his parents JW and Nellie Rushing.
Harold was a man of many trades. His early years were shared between truck driving, welding, roofing and carpentry, just to name a few. While also being active in the moonshine industry; production, sales, and delivery; he had a part in all of it and trouble wasn’t far behind him. It was once said if you wanted to keep up with Harold, check the local newspaper.
He was also one of the best storytellers, most of the time of the fiction type but that was always for the listener to determine.
He joined the farming world in the 90’s when he bought a poultry and cattle operation in Shover Springs, Arkansas and that consumed his time until he retired. Nothing made him happier than bringing a baby calf or a baby deer home for the kids or grandkids to bottle feed. In his free time, you could find him happily posted up on the banks of his pond with a hook in the water, usually with a grandkid right beside him.
Throughout his older years, nothing brought him more joy than his grandchildren. They were the ones he always wanted to see, the ones he always wanted to talk about and the ones who always brought the biggest smile to his face.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billy Rushing; sisters, Jewel Carter, Ruth Harvel; daughter, Renee Neal.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Harold Gene Rushing, David Wayne Rushing (Samone), Priscilla Johnson (Johnny); grandchildren, Landon Dougan, Daniel Rushing, Dawson Rushing, Russ Johnson, Jace Johnson, Hunter Rushing, Lyric Rushing, Austin Rushing, Jessica Rushing; three stepdaughters, Ann Sartain, Kim Angel, Susan Martin; and a handful of step grandchildren.
