Nora Nutt Smith Conway

Nora Nutt Smith Conway was born March 9, 1929. She went to her heavenly home on March 5, 2025, in Greenbrier, Arkansas at the age of 95.

Nora had a servant’s heart and faithfully served the Lord, her husbands, and family until she lost the physical ability. She spent several years serving alongside her husband, Lowrey Smith, as a pastor’s wife. Several years after Lowrey’s death, she married Claude where they shared companionship in the later days of his life.

She loved gardening, yardwork, acrylic painting, sewing, and reading. After Lowrey’s death, she loved serving at Unity Baptist Church in Hope, AR, as a volunteer, a greeter, Awanas, WMA, Christian Clinic, church outreach, hospitality committee, and Vacation Bible School.

She is survived by daughters Kathryn (John) Greene of Lufkin, TX; Marian (Larry) Byers of Hope, AR; Annette (Bill) Clements of Lakeview, AR; and son J.L. (LeSha) Smith of Greenbrier AR. Eight grandchildren: Kristin (Aran) Greene of Lufkin, TX; Joel (Demea) Greene of Blanchard, OK; Amanda (Matt) Wolfe of Collinsville, OK; Emily (Wayne) Smith of Benton, AR; Britt (Marte) Clements of Mountain Home, AR; Nicole (Cameron) Burroughs of Greenbrier, AR; Alyssa and Natalie Smith of Greenbrier, AR; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. Sister Mildren Smith Hudson and brother Bobby (Montie) Pennington.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; Lowrey L. Smith of 44 years and Claude Conway of 5 years. Her parents Emmett and Sarah Nutt; brothers: Carol, Marlin, William, and James; Sisters: Everline Sparks, Gracie Garner, Ozalee Hahne.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 8, at 10:00 am, with services to follow at 11:00 am, at Unity Baptist Church, 402 S Hervey St, Hope, AR 71801. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm, at Princeton Cemetery, 83-97 CR-101, Carthage, AR 71725. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Unity Baptist Church.
