Magnolia man arrested during traffic stop

HOPE – On March 17, 2025, Deputy Jason Johnson conducted a traffic stop on highway 32 East. During the stop Deputy Johnson (allegedly) noticed the smell of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.

Deputy Johnson made contact with Demetrius Paschal of Magnolia, Arkansas. Upon further investigation Deputy Johnson (allegedly) discovered several individually packaged bags of suspected marijuana.

Deputy Eric Garner attached to the 8th North Drug Task Force arrived to assist.

Deputy Garner (allegedly) located several packages of pills suspected of being Fentanyl during the investigation. Deputies also seized $241.00 in US Currency.

Paschal was transported to the Hempstead County Detention Center where he was booked for Possession of Controlled Substance, Marijuana, and Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose to Deliver. He is also being held on a Parole Revocation Warrant.
