Santos Gerardo Mendoza

Santos Gerardo Mendoza, age 38, of Hope, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, in Malvern.  He was born December 22, 1986, in Honduras, the son of Olivia Mendoza and Julio Castellon.  He attended Emmet High School and enjoyed fishing, mudding and going to the lake. His life was filled with love and joy in his younger years, and a dedication to his family that has left an endearing mark of love on their hearts. Although bound for a season, he has found mercy in the blessed release of death. To stand before his Creator as we all must one day. May Jesus Christ be blessed forever.  Santos was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Santos Mendoza and Roque Castellon, his aunt, Blanca Mendoza and his great-grandmother, Paula Madrid.

Survivors are his parents, Olivia Mendoza of Hope and Julio Castellon of Honduras, one son, Malaky Mendoza of Hope, one brother, Maynor Castellon of Hope, two sisters, Vanessa Rodgers (Damian) of Hope and Ivette Cairns (Anthony) of Australia and his grandmother, Alba Madrid. Also leaves behind, if only for a season, many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles who loved him dearly. He will be missed. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 21, 2025, at Welch Funeral Home with Damian Rodgers officiating.

Visitation is from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Snell Cemetery at Emmet.

Pallbearers are Maynor Castellon, Lance McCoy, Chris Espinoza, Corey Green, Abraham Espinoza and Ricardo Espinoza.
