Hope Lions Hear Program on the Klipsch Foundation
The Hope Lions heard a program about the Klipsch Foundation from Jim Hunter and Ginny Sanders on Monday (4-7). Hunter described how the Klipsch Museum was started about ten years ago. Hunter is the custodian of literally thousands of Klipsch documents, photos, publications, and photos. He has scanned about 5% of the material he has access to which amounts to about 25,000 scans so far. Hunter noted Paul Klipsch saved an enormous amount of archival material.
Hunter shared some history on Mr. Klipsch’s original speaker designs as well as some historical photos. This included some photos from the Southwestern Proving Grounds which is what brought Mr. Klipsch to Hope. He also explained how the organization came to purchase the former Talbot Feild home at Division and Pine. This building is the visitor’s center for the foundation and museum. Sanders manages this facility.
Both Hunter and Sanders worked for Klipsch and Associates and obviously enjoy their jobs with the museum.
