Mayor Paul Henely said there were 6 dogs captured in Washington in March. Jon Barry gave the Fire Department report. He said new tires were put on one of the fire trucks. Barry also said he had ordered an eye-washing station. Barry noted the eye-washing station would be ready to use once it arrived. Barry reported a fire the department put out 3 weeks ago. A brush-pile fire got out of hand. Mayor Henely reported a couple of Americorps members painted and oiled up some of the fire plugs. The mayor also reported there are lockers for the firemen to use.
The state park has put in a new sidewalk system. Mayor Henely wants to install caution lights so that it will be safer to cross the highway. There was talk of getting a new speed limit sign for Washington. It is put on hold, as the Highway Department didn’t like the color of the sign.
One board member said for the Bowie Festival, the Park wanted the city to hire a tow truck in case anyone was to park incorrectly. There was a question about the city paying for something the park wanted.
The meeting was then adjourned.
