Hope Band Banquet

The Hope School District held its band banquet at Hempstead Hall on Monday (5-5). The banquet started with a meal with different meat options, a dish of mashed potatoes, rolls, salad, water and tea and deserts. After people had the chance to eat there was a celebration of what had been accomplished and a look towards the future. Without all the resources but with hard work Hope beat 8-time winner Paragould.

There was a slideshow of the seniors and they were celebrated for their willingness and hard work. Shelby Gilbert won the National Color Guard Award and Jair Delgado won a certificate of excellence.

Next year’s theme is one of dolphins. There will be new props including slide and backdrops and the theme will include more fun.

Band boosters were told to stand up and acknowledged for their efforts in setting up.

The band is saying goodbye to Mr. Ray who proclaimed he loved them all.

There was an announcement about the voting for the board the next day at 6 and people were encouraged to go to vote.
