Doyle H. Hawthorne-Updated

Doyle H. Hawthorne, 88, of Hope, AR passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025, at his home. Doyle was born April 22, 1937, in Columbus, AR to Roy and Etta Clayton Hawthorne.  He liked to hunt, fish and work in his garden.  Doyle had a passion for music, writing, singing and playing the guitar. Mr. Hawthorne was a jack of all trades and mastered all of them.

He is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Etta Hawthorne; six brothers, Leroy Hawthorne, Tommy Hawthorne, Clayton Hawthorne, Ed Hawthrone, Robert Hawthorne and Garland Hawthorne; five sisters, Louise Ray, Louella Perry, Carolyn Jo Hicks, Henrietta Hendrick, and Narlene Griffin.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years Lucille Rushing Hawthorne; his son Jerry Hawthorne (Bridget), stepsons Oaktree Richards (Rachael) and David Applegate; daughters Dianne Hawthorne, Lena Cox (Bill), stepdaughters Susan Been (Bill), Eva Jumper (Jason), Pam Klein, Kathy Poindexter (Norman) and Patty Wicker; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held 1:00pm Monday, May 12, 2025. Chapel services will immediately follow at 2:00pm at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home with Bro. Ernie Sorrells officiating.
