FEMA announces federal disaster assistance for local counties for April 2-22 severe weather

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced that federal disaster assistance is available to the state of Arkansas to supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding from April 2-22, 2025.

In southwest Arkansas, federal funding is available to state, tribal, eligible local governments, and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe weather. Those counties include Nevada, Hempstead, Clark, Lafayette, Little River, Miller, Pike, and Sevier Counties.

The President’s actions also makes federal funding available to affected individuals in Clark, Miller, and Ouachita Counties. Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-interest loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.
