Update-Captured…Search underway in Texarkana for work-release inmate walks off Hope jobsite

TEXARKANA – Arkansas Department of Community Corrections work-release inmate, Antarian Wright, B/M, 30yoa, has escaped and is believed to be in the Pinson Park area of Texarkana, Arkansas. He is believed to be wearing dark grey pants and a dark, possibly black, long sleeve sweatshirt.
Early this morning, the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department was notified that Antarian Wright had walked off from his work-release jobsite in Hope, AR. He was believed to have ties to the Texarkana area and TAPD was requested to assist in the search of several local addresses.
One such location was his girlfriend’s apartment at Beacon Point Apartments, 2301 Arkansas Blvd. TAPD responded to assist Arkansas State Police and Arkansas Department of Community Corrections at this location. While ADC and ASP made their approach, Antarian Wright fled from the apartment. This occurred around 3:40am. A perimeter was set up and Texarkana Texas Police Department’s K9 team responded to conduct a track. This was ultimately unsuccessful.
The girlfriend, Precious White, 26, was arrested by Arkansas State Police for her alleged involvement in Wrights’s escape and has been transported to the Miller County Jail.
Wright was originally incarcerated for Aggravated Robbery and Theft by Receiving/Firearm according to ADC’s website. “While we urge citizens to take precautions for their safety, we are not aware of anything that would lead us to believe that Wright is currently armed,” Texarkana, AR Police said.
“TAPD urges citizens in the Pinson Park area to remain vigilant and report anything suspicious to 911. Law enforcement has been in the area since Wright fled and are currently using all resources at their disposal to locate him. We ask that anyone not needing to travel to the Pinson Park area avoid it at this time. A heavy law enforcement presence can be expected in the area for the immediate future, including additional K9 searches. If you live in the area, we ask you remain indoors.”
The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department has directed a community alert to be sent out on Hyper-Reach for a 2-mile radius around the area he fled from.
The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department remains an assisting agency in this search. The Arkansas State Police and Arkansas Department of Corrections remain the primary agencies responsible for this search. Any further requests for information regarding this escapee should be directed to ASP and ADC.
