Blevins School Board

The Blevins School Board met Monday (6-9). After prayer and pledge President Laura Clark moved to nominate new board officers. After nominations, voting was unanimous for President Cindy Parks, Vice President Carl McGill, and Secretary Laura Clark.

Superintendent Dixon shared scholarship funds and the CD rate along with vehicle insurance. The board approved the high school floor bid and concrete repair bid. Dixon shared the need for the high school floors to be updated and modernized along with outdoor concrete replacement.

The board engaged in conversations during the principal’s report regarding strides for growth and the elementary moving up two letter grades to “C”.  Principle Dr. Turner shared the school’s vision and direction including changes that are continuing to happen. Additional discussion included CTE program additions and opportunities for students to participate in new CTE pathways. Assistant Superintendent Reeder added data regarding growth reports in language, math and science.

The board went into executive session for personnel matters. Upon return they voted and approved the personnel list as presented.
