He also previewed a detailed budget plan for 2026, which will be available for next month’s meeting.
Attorney and Rotary Club member Rowe Stayton shared exciting news about a community garden project at the old hospital site near Cash Savers. Construction begins in December, with an expected finish date in February—a timely gift of sustainability for the new year.
Chamber of Commerce Director Valarie Cobb highlighted recent successes, such as Trick or Treat on Elm Street, which attracted 70 vendors, and hinted at upcoming holiday events that will keep Prescott lively with seasonal joy. Council members echoed these announcements, encouraging residents to participate in the festivities.
Adding to the season of giving, the Prescott Police Department spotlighted its Blue Shopper fundraiser, part of the popular “Shop with a Cop” initiative. This program pairs local officers with children for a holiday shopping experience that goes beyond just giving gifts; it fosters trust and spreads happiness. Donations are currently being accepted to help make Christmas brighter for numerous local families. Residents can contribute by contacting the department or visiting the Prescott Police Foundation website.
