Nevada County Election Results

Nevada County had only six contested local races in Tuesday’s primary election. In the race for Circuit Judge, District 8, Division 2 Judge, Matthew Wade Kimmell polled 536 voted compared to Kolby Harper’s 527 votes. Harper won decisively in Hempstead County. Her two-county total was 2,062 compared to 1,685 for Kimmell.
In the Republican primary for JP District 7 in Nevada County, Regina Irizarry polled 37 votes compared to 27 for Judy Ottmer.
In the race for Prescott School Board Zone 3, JoBeth Glass polled 74 votes compared to 67 for Jason Kisselburg. In the race for Prescott School Board Zone 4, Denise Walker received 111 votes, Eric Gonzales 97 votes, and Mae Lewis 17 votes. In the Prescott School Board Zone 5 race, Emily Jackson received 131 votes compared to 73 for Valerie Cobb.
In the Republican primary for U.S. Senate in Nevada County, Incumbent Tom Cotton polled 616 votes compared to 39 for Jeb Little and 26 for Micah Ashby. In the Republican primary for Secretary of State, Bryan Norris polled 259 votes, Kim Hammer polled 207 votes, and Cathy Hardin Harrison took 190 votes.
In the Republican Primary for Commission of State Lands, Cole Jester received 554 votes in Nevada County and Christian Olson received 105.
In the Democratic primary for state races in Nevada County, Ethan Dunbar took 171 votes compared to 165 for Hallie Shoffner. In the Democratic primary for U.S. Representative District 4, Steven Layne O’Donnell polled 171 votes compared to 159 for James “Rus” Russell III. In the Democratic primary for Governor in Nevada County, Fred Love took 280 votes and Supra Xayprasith-Mays polled 65.
In the State Supreme Court Associate Justice Position 3 race in Nevada County, Nick Bronni polled 601 votes compared to 381 for John Adams.
