
Kallie Smith was recognized as the Overall Agriculture Student of the Year during the 2026 Ag Formal, an honor awarded to a student who demonstrates outstanding dedication, leadership, and service with the agriculture program. She is the daughter of Brandon and Emily Sweat-Smith and the granddaughter of Amy Sweat and David and Pat Sweat
Smith, a senior agriculture business major at Southern Arkansas University, was selected for this prestigious award by professors in the agriculture department. Known for her strong work ethic and willingness to serve, she has built a reputation as a dependable student who contributes across all areas of the ag building. In addition to her academic achievements, Smith serves as a Supplemental Instructor for Principles of Agricultural Economics and works as an office assistant for Professor Boumtje. Her involvement in both academic support and departmental operations reflects her commitment to helping others succeed.
Smith’s selection for this award highlights not only her academic success, but also her dedication to supporting both faculty and fellow students. Her consistent presence and positive contributions within the department have made her a valued member of the agriculture program.
