
SPRING HILL – The Spring Hill School Board meeting met on May 18th at 6pm. The previous meeting’s minutes were read and approved. The financial report was also read and approved by the Board. A math teacher, Tiffany Moore,, is resigning and her resignation was approved. She has accepted a job as the Math Specialist for the Coop. There is a position open for a math teacher position.
The ice machine for the cafeteria expenditures was looked at and Harper Refrigeration was picked to replace the ice maker, as it would cost as much to fix it as it would to buy a new one. It will cost $5,059.36. A new pump for the school’s wastewater was approved, and it was decided to but it from Jack Tyler Engineering for $16,002. It was decided to continue to employ the cleaning crew, wastewater operator and floor waxing crew. It was approved to hire students at minimum wage to help with the school as needed during the summer. It was approved to extend the school year by 15 days for a certain student. The school choice list was approved as read. Dr. Peter Maggio was nominated for the Federal Coordinators Board for 2027-2028
It was asked how many students it would take to get a 6th elementary class. Kayla Parker, the elementary principal, said it would take 6 more students.
The board went into executive session, with no action taken. The meeting was adjourned.
