Fred Stephen Ivers, age 96, of Lewisville, Arkansas entered his Heavenly Home on Friday,
May 22, 2026, in Hope, Arkansas. He was born to Pierce and Eva Ivers in Lewisville,
Arkansas on September 18, 1929. He married the love of his life, Christine Smith Ivers, on
May 26, 1951. Today would have been their seventy fifth wedding anniversary. A love like
theirs is a rare and treasured gift.
He was a devoted family man and a man of God; he loved with his whole heart. Fred was a
member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, and loved his church family. He was still teaching
Sunday school just two Sundays ago. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing games, and the
Ivers family game of long ball. He always enjoyed a good bowl of ice cream.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Ivers; his children, Rodney (Janice) Ivers of Jessieville,
Arkansas, Jackie (Yalonda) Ivers of Denison, Texas, Cindy (Randy) Haynes of Jones,
Louisiana, Barry Ivers of Lewisville, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Pierce, Franklin, Jesse,
J.Q., J.C., J.T., Marcy, Tyler, Michael, and Robert; and fourteen great grandchildren. He is
also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Jerrel Nolan Ivers, and eleven brothers
and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 25, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Piney Grove
Baptist Church in Lewisville, Arkansas.
His funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Piney Grove Baptist
Church in Lewisville, Arkansas. His grandson, J.C. Ivers, will officiate. Interment will follow
at Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville, Arkansas. His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Piney Grove Baptist Church in his memory.
