The District congratulated Alivia Key for earning Arkansas Governor’s Distinguished Scholarship with ACT of 33.
Kaylee Gentry was named the OBU Talent Search Student of the Year.
Campus Teachers of the Year were Mrs. Thompson, Mr. Christopher and Mrs. Smith.
Students in Mrs. Haynie’s class took the ACT Workkeys NCR Certification test. This test is open to all Arkansas students and is designed to measure career relevant skills. It is good for life and recognized nationally. 44 students received a Workkeys Certification with two Platinum (the highest ranking), four gold, 14 Silver and 24 Bronze.
There were 26 middle school students recognized in the pick 26.
Band camp is open to everyone. There are Open Percussion tryouts from 8 to 12 on June 1st to 3rd. Only 3 spots are available. Band camp will July 13th to 31st with the first week only for Percussion and Leadership and week 2 and 3 for all band members. There are Drum Majorette tryouts on June 22nd at 6. Traits looked for are accountability, discipline, leadership, and integrity. Those trying out will be evaluated on command presence, musical knowledge, communication, work ethic and vision.
