SARATOGA – Arkansas Quilt Trails: Today’s feature is from the developing Hempstead County Quilt Trail. Named AR Postage Stamp Quilt, the block hangs in the window of the residence located at 102 Saratoga Lane, Saratoga AR. Owner Kathy Stokes-Phillips shares its story: “This quilt pattern has a colorful and storied history, originating from the American pioneer days. As women journeyed westward, they utilized tiny scraps of fabric, often as small as postage stamps, to create intricate, multi-colored quilts. ”
What a beautiful and intricate work of art Kathy has created to be part of the Hempstead County Quilt Trail!
