The DAR recently hosted “cookies and tea” at the Hempstead County Courthouse to honor women veterans. A good crowd turned out including Army veteran Barbara Shockley, Paul Oller of the Civil Air Patrol, Veteran Herbert Ross, Army Veteran Kimberly Smith Newton, Terri James USA R/NG, Army Veterans Mary Beth Sharp and Shelia Malone, and Air Force Veteran James Heflin.
