Deborah Ann Murdorf (Smith), lovingly known as Debbie, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 3, 2026, at the age of 68. She was born on July 23, 1957, in Winfield, Alabama.
Debbie was the beloved daughter of the late Martha Elizabeth Boley and John Wesley Smith. She is lovingly remembered by her three children, Karla, Jeremy, and Meghan; her six cherished grandchildren, Grant, Jordan, Courtney, Kierra, Jonathan, and Livia.
Debbie is preceded in death by her longtime life partner Hugh J. Daniel, whom she loved very deeply, and is survived by her brother Johnny Smith and many family members and friends whose lives were brightened by her kindness and compassion.
Debbie will be remembered for her caring heart, generous spirit, and unwavering willingness to help others. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported Debbie throughout her life. A very special mention goes to Terry Collier, who, despite having taken separate paths in life, always held a special place in Debbie’s heart.
Debbie will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love, warmth, and kindness she shared with all who knew her.
