
HOPE – Hope Public Schools announces a vacancy on the Hope Public Schools Board of Education representing Zone 2 following the resignation of Board Member Bubba Powers, effective August 1, 2026.
Qualified individuals interested in being considered for appointment must:
- Be a qualified elector and registered voter.
- Reside within the boundaries of Hope Public Schools.
- Reside within Board Zone 2.
- Submit a petition stating their intention to be considered for appointment.
- Obtain the signatures of at least 20 qualified electors who reside within Zone 2.
- Submit all required materials no later than Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
The online interest form will close at 11:59 p.m. on September 4, 2026. However, submission of the online form alone does not replace the requirement to submit a completed and signed petition.
Only individuals who submit a timely, valid, and sufficient petition and meet all eligibility requirements will be considered.
Eligible applicants will be considered during a meeting of the Hope Public Schools Board of Education on September 15th at 5:30 pm. The meeting will be held at the Hope Public Schools Administration Building, 601 West Sixth Street, Hope, Arkansas.
During the meeting:
- Each eligible applicant will be provided at least five minutes to address the Board.
- Board members may ask individual questions of each applicant.
- All discussion and action concerning the appointment will occur in open session.
- The appointment will be made by majority vote of the Board in open session.
The individual appointed will serve the remainder of the unexpired Zone 2 term.
