HOPE – There is still time to register for fall classes at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT). Whether students are beginning college for the first time, returning to finish a degree, changing careers, or looking for flexible options close to home, UAHT is ready to help them take the next step this fall.
Both UAHT campuses will be open for extended-hours registration until 6:00 p.m. on August 17 and 18. Fall classes begin August 19, and registration continues through August 21. Students are encouraged to apply, meet with an advisor, review financial aid options, and complete the registration process as soon as possible.
UAHT offers more than 55 degree and certificate programs, giving students a wide range of options to prepare for university transfer, career advancement, or immediate entry into the workforce. Programs include academic transfer degrees, health professions, business, education, welding, diesel technology, HVAC, cybersecurity, electromechanical technology, nursing, emergency medical services, and many others.
For students who need flexibility, UAHT offers online and hybrid learning options, including an Associate of Arts in General Education degree that can be completed 100% online. This degree allows students to earn the first two years of a bachelor’s degree while balancing work, family, and other responsibilities.
Students now also have the opportunity to pursue select bachelor’s degrees from UAHT campuses through a partnership with the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Through the partnership, students can earn an associate degree from UAHT and a bachelor’s degree from UAM while remaining close to home. Current bachelor’s degree options include K-6 elementary education and general business.
UAHT is also offering exciting new degrees and certificates in artificial intelligence (AI) beginning this fall, giving students the opportunity to build skills in one of the fastest-growing areas of the modern workforce. These programs are designed to help students prepare for a changing workplace where AI, data, automation, and digital communication are becoming part of nearly every industry.
Affordability remains one of the biggest advantages of attending UAHT. The college offers one of the most affordable tuition and fee rates in Arkansas, making higher education accessible for students and families throughout the region. UAHT also offers border-county residents the same affordable in-state tuition rate. Eligible border counties include Bowie, Cass, Red River, Marion, Morris, and Titus counties in Texas; McCurtain County in Oklahoma; and Caddo, Bossier, Claiborne, and Webster parishes in Louisiana.
Financial aid and scholarship opportunities can make attending UAHT even more affordable. With the Arkansas Future Grant, also known as ArFuture, eligible students can qualify to earn more than 25 in-demand degrees and certificates free of charge at UAHT.
Qualifying ArFuture programs at UAHT include Coding, Computer and Information Science, Cybersecurity, Diesel Technology, EMT-Basic, Industrial Electricity, HVAC, Maintenance, Nursing, Paramedic, Power Technologies, Solar Technology, Teaching, Welding, and more. For students interested in high-demand careers, ArFuture can provide a valuable pathway to earning a credential without the burden of tuition and mandatory fee costs.
Another valuable opportunity for UAHT students is the Arkansas Transfer Achievement Scholarship. This scholarship helps eligible UAHT graduates who earn an associate degree transfer to the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and continue paying UAHT’s affordable tuition rate.
From advising and financial aid to flexible class options and career-focused programs, UAHT provides the support students need to get started and stay on track. Students do not have to navigate the process alone. Advisors are available to help students choose classes, understand degree plans, explore scholarship options, and create a path that fits their goals.
For recent high school graduates, UAHT offers a smart and affordable (often free) way to begin college close to home. For adult learners, UAHT offers flexible options for returning to school while managing work and family responsibilities.
