HOPE – Headlining the opening day for the Hope Watermelon Festival was the Annual Dog Show on the Hope Public Schools Stage. The sponsors were the City of Hope Animal Shelter and Hope for Paws. In total, seventeen “pawsome” contestants competed in four categories, including Best Trick, Best Looking Adult, Best Costume, and Best Looking Puppy. Amidst the blazing heat, a dark cloud rested above the park and brought a nice breeze during the dog show. Here are your 2026 Melon Fest Dog Show winners:
Best Looking Puppy: Avene Swint & Bandit
Best Looking Adult: Kat Chambers & Itchy
Best Trick: Quentin Pada & Nala
Best Costume: Ana Alvarez & Mr. Slinky
