HOPE — Hope Public Schools is now accepting nominations for its next Athletic Hall of Fame class, continuing the district’s renewed effort to recognize the student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and contributors who have made significant contributions to the history of Bobcat athletics.
Hope Public Schools relaunched the Athletic Hall of Fame during the 2025–2026 school year, reviving a tradition whose previous induction had taken place in 1992.
The first class following the relaunch included C.J. Ellis, Jami Godwin, Jaidyn Simington, Ronnie Powell, D.D. Holyfield, Ricky Rhodes, Ronald Stuart, Bubba Powers, and Randy Wright. The inductees represented generations of athletic achievement, leadership, service, and Bobcat pride.
With nominations now open again, Hope Public Schools is asking alumni, former staff members, families, fans, and community members to help identify individuals and groups worthy of consideration.
Nominees will be considered in three categories:
Student-Athletes must have demonstrated outstanding performance in athletics while attending Hope High School. Achievements may include All-Conference, All-State, or equivalent recognition at the regional, state, or national level. Special consideration will be given during the modern era, defined as the 1990s to present, for All-State recognition. Student-athletes must have graduated at least five years prior to their nomination. Character and conduct during and following their high school career will also be considered.
Coaches and Administrators must have made significant and lasting contributions to the athletic programs of Hope Public Schools. Consideration will include leadership, professional achievements, service to students and the community, and demonstrated standards of ethical and moral conduct.
Contributors may include individuals or groups whose service, support, or advocacy has made a notable contribution to the success and advancement of Hope Public Schools athletics.
The Athletic Hall of Fame is intended not only to recognize athletic achievement, but also to preserve the history and stories of those whose work helped establish and strengthen Bobcat athletics across generations.
Community participation in the nomination process is an important part of that mission. Hope Public Schools encourages residents, alumni, former athletes, coaches, staff members, and supporters to consider the individuals whose achievements and contributions deserve to become a permanent part of the district’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
