
The Hope Kiwanis Club heard a program on Hope Bobcat Football on Tuesday (8-11). Head Football Coach Phillip turner, Quarterback Jaiden Brown, Lineman and Fullback Joe Bello, Coach Jonathan Turner were on hand to talk Bobcat football with the club.
The Bobcats will be playing in the 4A classification this year, down from 5A. Coach Phillip Turner said the team has 14 seniors, 13 juniors, and 9 sophomores. This year’s team will have plenty of versatile athletes who can go both ways. The team should be competitive despite losing their starting quarterback Trey Hoglund. Playing in 4A means the Bobcats will be playing teams more their size in numbers and with the number of returning juniors and seniors. the team should have the experience to do great things.
The Bobcats will scrimmage at Texarkana August 18th at 6pm. The opening game will be against Prescott August 28th in Prescott at 7pm. Other opponents this year will include Mayflower, DeQueen, Ashdown, Malvern, Genoa Central, Arkadelphia, Nashville, Fountain Lake, and Fouke.
