The Prescott Nevada County Kiwanis Club celebrated a remarkable moment of service and dedication on July 30, recognizing three longtime members with the distinguished Legion of Honor award. This honor, one of Kiwanis International’s highest tributes, highlights individuals who have demonstrated sustained commitment to improving their communities and supporting the mission of Kiwanis.
Fred Harris, the current president of the Prescott Nevada County Kiwanis Club, was honored for 40 years of devoted service. His leadership and long-standing involvement have shaped countless community projects and strengthened the club’s impact across Nevada County.
Howard Austin received recognition for 38 years of service, reflecting decades of steady commitment and meaningful contributions to the club’s outreach and volunteer efforts. Vince Grimes was celebrated for 27 years of involvement, marking more than a quarter‐century of dedication to Kiwanis’ mission of serving children and communities.
“Honoring Fred, Howard, and Vince with the Legion of Honor is a proud moment for our entire club,” said a spokesperson for the Prescott Nevada County Kiwanis Club. “With over a century of combined service between them, their enduring dedication shows what it truly means to be a Kiwanian.
