HOPE – Calvary Baptist Church in Hope welcomed Clay Steelman, Southern Baptist missionary to Kenya, in its Sunday, September 13th worship service. Steelman is a director with the International Mission Board’s Send Relief program. He and his wife, Lydia, are originally from Bryant, AR. and the couple surrendered to the mission field in 2022.
Clay spoke to local worshippers about the many problems in Kenya, many originating from poverty. He shared how Send Relief uses the power of God and contributions from the church pew to help meet physical needs and hopefully open the hearts of people to their need of a relationship with Jesus Christ. Mr. Steelman’s presentation, complete with power point, was well received, to the point of being the best missionary visit to Calvary in recent memory. Church members gave an offering to further the Lord’s work in Kenya.
To make September 13th even more special, Matt Rowland played organ for the service. Matt is certainly gifted by God. Every time he plays, it’s like you’re in a revival service. Thank you, Matt, for sharing with us!
