Ruby Jean Hearon Stewart was born on March 16, 1937, to Earmon and Leoa Mays Hearon. She was the second child out of eight children. She departed this life on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, in Texarkana, Texas.
Mother Stewart received her formal education from Clow Training School graduating as the valedictorian in 1955. Mother Stewart was a stay-at-home mother. She did not begin working until her youngest child began school. During this time, she took care of the home and her family. She was a master of all trades. She could sew, cook and was inspirational in the home and the community.
Mother Ruby Hearon Stewart and Supt. Floyd Stewart married on July 9, 1955, and shared 71 memorable years together.
She began working at the Washington School District in 1975 as a teacher assistant and continued with the position until 1990. Mother Stewart and her son taught at the same school during this time. She received additional training from Brigham Young University, Charles Mason Bible College. She was firm but fair. She wanted her students to do their very best.
She not only worked in the school but the church as well. Mother Ruby Stewart was a licensed Evangelist Missionary with the II Jurisdiction of Arkansas. She was the District Sunshine Band President for District #4 and the Nashville District for over 30 years. She was the Sunday School teacher for Class #2, Minister’s wife for over 57 years. She worked with the Pastor’s Aide or wherever her hands were needed. Mother Stewart would sing until you felt the spirit. More than anything she would deliver the word. Through her life many came to the Lord,
She accepted Christ at an early age of 17. The Lord saved her and filled her with the Holy Ghost while singing I’m a Soldier in the Army of the Lord. Mother continued this life for Christ for a total of 72 years. Her life was a testament of who she was.
Mother Stewart is preceded in death by her parents, Earmon Hearon, Leoa Mays Hearon Dennis, stepfather Supt. O.N. Dennis, brothers, Lee Dale Hearon, Robert Clinton Hearon, sister, Norlean Hearon Barnes Cortez
Mother Stewart leaves to cherish her precious memories; a devoted husband Supt. Floyd Stewart Ozan, AR; son Elder Wayne Stewart of Forth Worth TX; daughters, Joyce (Elder Ronnie) White, Karen (Carl) McGill, son, Kenneth Stewart of Ozan, AR; grandchildren, Gayland Jr.(Te’Quandra) Thomas of Houston, TX, Keithen Thomas of Houston, TX, Krystal (Jamiez) Williams of North Little Rock, AR, Ariel McGill of Ozan, Arkansas, Christopher (Nia) Fort Worth, TX,; adopted grandson Shaundell (Shenay) Scott of Texarkana, TX; God daughter Liz Hughes, great grandchildren Kellie, KJ, Scarlet, and Noah sisters Azelean Young,Barton MI, Lula Morrison, Sherlyn Carrigan Ozan, Cynthia Murphy and sister-in-law Betty Hearon, Hope, Ar and host of nieces, nephews, and friends, and Victory Temple Church family
