WASHINGTON – Now through Sunday, November 8 at Historic Washington State Park, quilts made for local veterans of Hempstead County will be on display for the public to view. The quilts are made by members of the Hope Quilters Guild and the Hempstead County Extension Homemakers Council club. The quilts are given to Hempstead County military veterans at the Annual Hempstead County Veterans Day Recognition Ceremony on November 11. Come out and view the amazing handwork of local residents, made to support those who have served our country.
The quilts will be on display at the 1874 Courthouse Visitor Center. For more information contact the park visitor center at 870-983-2684.
