Shirley Ann Head Hill aka Sam of Prescott, Arkansas went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, October 20th, 2026, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was born on October 18th, 1948, in Prescott, Arkansas. She was 78 years old.
To know Sam was to love her. Sam was first and foremost a Christian and loved sharing about Jesus with others. She and her husband, Jerry Hill, built a life of laughter, love, happiness, joy and they served the Lord. They faithfully attended Calvary Church of Prescott, Arkansas. Jerry and Sam owned Popa J’s Auto in Prescott. In retirement, she and Jerry were caretakers at the New Cowhide Cove campgrounds on Lake Greeson. She loved the lake.
Sam is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry Hill. They shared 31 wonderful years together. Their love for each other could illuminate the world.
Sam was the beloved mother to 9 children, in which is survived by, Keith Mauldin (Jennifer) of Walker, LA. Angie Hill McBride (Greg) of Prescott, AR. Amy Hill Velazquez (Robert) of Sherwood, AR. Micah Mauldin (Diana) of Texarkana, AR. Amber Hill Hignight (Neil) of Prescott, AR. Marie Matthews O’Neal (Rodney) of Saratoga Springs, UT. Tiffany Mauldin Barr of Genoa, AR. J. R. Matthews (Rachel) of Dallas, TX. DeeAnna Matthews Glass of Prescott, AR. She was Grammy Sammy to 39 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
She is survived by brother Gaylon (Alice) Head, Terry (Suzanne) Head sister Kay Head Shane, Judy (Junior) Roberts, brother-in-law William Bill Hill, sister-in-law Martha Head, and sister-in-law Carol Head
She is preceded in death by her parents Claud and Irene Treas Head, sister Carolyn Head Hill, brother Charles Head, brother Dean Head and brother-in-law Glen Shane.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Church 122 Nevada 259 Prescott, Arkansas on Saturday, October 31st. Visitation will be 12 pm to 1 pm, with the memorial service beginning at 1 pm under the direction of Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home, The Funeral Home of Hope, Ben Brazzel, Director.
