Hope Civitan Hears from Phoebe Bailey
The Hope Civitan Club recently heard from guest speaker, Phoebe Bailey, director of the Southwest Arkansas Education Cooperative. Bailey, pictured with Civitan Club President Darrell Davis, spoke on the history of the Co-op and listed some of the many services available to educators and also to the general public. The Co-op is located adjacent to the University of Arkansas Hope campus at 2502 S. Main and primarily serves schools in Hempstead, Nevada, Miller, and Lafayette Counties. Services provided include professional development, technical services, early childhood and special education, and much more, said Bailey. She said the teacher center at the Co-op can provide copy services, posters, printing on canvas, vinyl lettering, book making and other services to the public as well as to the education community.
