Bargains abounded at Garage Sale Heaven on 67

PRESCOTT – Saturday was a busy day in Prescott as garage sales were held all over the place.

This was for Garage Sale Heaven on Hwy. 67, an annual event giving people the chance to raise money for their churches or civic groups, or simply to clean out their houses and try to earn a little extra cash for themselves.

Sales stretched from the Nevada County Health Unit to Emmet along the highway, though several sales were held in other parts of the community as well. There was almost something for everyone at the different sales, but most contained clothing for women and children. Some, though, had televisions and furniture, along with what nots and knickknacks. One had a compound bow. The Cub Scouts were on hand at Cash Savers selling popcorn.

In Emmet one of the sales was manned by the Emmet Vision Association. The group worked to raise money for Emmet’s annual Christmas Parade and visit from Santa, which will be the second Saturday in December, or Dec. 14.
