Hempstead County Women’s Famr Bureau Committee AG Woman of the Month

The Hempstead County Women’s Farm Bureau Committee has chosen Candace McMurrough as our AG woman for the month of December.

Candace McMurrough was born and raised right here in Hope, AR. She has been riding and competing in 4-H, horse shows and Rodeos since she was three years old. Her family was on the road every weekend when she was a child headed to the next show. At a young age she even tried pig showing a lil and did very well with her Fathers help. Lots of wonderful memories were definitely made.

Candace is now Married to Dustin McMurrough, the man who made all of her dreams come true of being a farmer. They have been married for nine years. As newly weds they owned bucking bulls. Dustin was riding bulls and was also in the ring as a bull fighter. With the constant worry on her mind, about him getting hurt they decided to became cattle farmers. They now raise cattle on a beautiful farm right here in Hope, AR.

Together they have one precious outgoing little girl named Raleigh and she is nine years old. She follows in her mommas foot steps and has a big heart for Rodeo. Thus far in her rodeo career she has won over thirty buckles along with cash prizes that allow her to keep chasing her rodeo dreams. Her momma and daddy just bought her a new horse named George and by this time next year Raleigh is hoping George will bring her home that saddle she has been working so hard to get.

Candace is a Registered Dental Assistant, and has worked for Dr. Robert Carter for eight years. This past year Dustin wanted her to come home to help on the farm which would also allow her more time to spend with their daughter Raleigh. Candace still finds time in her schedule to fill in at the office when she is needed.

Candace is also the owner of DC Aussie. If you are in need of a registered mini Aussie or Aussie Doodle, Candace is the woman you need to call. She raises standard, mini Aussies and mini Aussie doodles. Raising and making sure all dogs are in good health is a job Candace loves to do.

Not every woman can help their husband on the farm. With everything we woman have on our plates it is hard sometimes. I am very blessed to have the husband that I do. He helps me in any way possible and I do my very best to help him. Let’s just say sometimes I tear up things, it happens on a farm for sure. We are a team when it comes to working on the farm or him helping me with my Aussie babies. It takes a team to run a farm and we couldn’t be happier raising cattle. We hope that one day Raleigh has the passion to keep our farm going so her children can grow up to live the best life….in our opinion!
