Dr. Young: No new info on COVID-19
PRESCOTT – Nevada County Health Official Dr. Mike Young said there’s nothing new as far as an update for COVID-19.
He said there are a few cases in Nevada County, but for the most part, people are behaving themselves, wearing masks and gloves when they’re out and about.
According to Dr. Young, the Arkansas Department of Health is staying Arkansas hasn’t peaked with COVID-19 yet and is still adding cases. The mortality rate from the virus remains around 2 percent, which is less than the common flu. Dr. Young said the flu seems to be abating in his office, which is a good thing.
A problem, though, is people are now hoarding hydroxiclorophin, which is touted by some as a treatment for COVID-19, though this hasn’t been proven. Because of this, Dr. Young said, those needing the drug aren’t able to get it.
He offered the same advice, wash hands, don’t touch the face, wear a mask when out and about and stay home when possible.
