Blevins fireworks show slated

BLEVINS – Depending on the weather, the annual Blevins July 4 Fireworks Show will be held.

Tim Choate, chief of the Blevins Volunteer Fire Department, said the department won’t be cooking hamburgers for the event this year, but will grill hot dogs. The cafeteria at the Blevins school won’t be open to the public for dining, but will be for those needing to use the restroom.

Otherwise, the nocturnal display of explosion and lights will go on as planned – unless it rains. Choate said the fireworks cost more this year due to the tariffs and the fact China’s factories are just now getting back in the swing of production, but the Blevins show will be the same it’s been in year’s past.

The fireworks display will begin at dark on July 4 in the vacant lot behind the Blevins school.
