McNab to seek sales tax

McNAB – Residents of McNab will soon have the opportunity to vote on a one and one-half cent sales and use tax. At its November meeting, the McNab City Council approved ordinances to seek the tax to be placed on the 2022 Preferential Primary Election ballot. The election must be held 60 to 120 days from the adoption of the ordinances, according to Mayor James T. Conway. He said the proposal is a sales and use tax for the city and contains no sunset clause. This means if voters approve, it will remain on the books permanently. If approved, funds generated will go towards the operation of the town.
