Swamprider fundraiser for ACH Saturday

PRESCOTT – More than $100,000 has been raised and donated by the Swamprider Motorcycle Club to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Saturday, Oct. 15, the club will hold a live auction, starting at 1 p.m. Food and refreshments will be available from the Flaming Pig BBQ.

Members of the club and their friends participate in the collection of money for the ACH and all collected goes to the ACH, The benefit was started in 1998 when Kelli Craig, the daughter of club members Lindell and Carla Craig, died in the hospital. This year, the club will be at “A Venue for You” where a live auction will be held to raise money for the ACH. Items have been donated by individuals and businesses.

The SRMC decided to move the benefit this year to A Venue for You to allow more people to participate in helping this hospital better carry out its renowned help for the children of Prescott, Camden and Hope communities, along with the entire state. There is no hospital system in the nation that offers a better comprehensive range of medical treatment for children.

The SRMC began in 1978 as a non-profit corporation. In 44 years the club has made substantial donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association and has held many benefits for the people in both the Prescott and Camden communities.

Karen Ward transformed an industrial venue into a showplace for weddings and special events. The steampunk theme event venue has room for dancing, dining, indoor and outdoor photo ops and can be tweaked to match almost any theme desired.

A Venue for You is located at 303 Ozan Ave.

All donations from the event are tax deductible, with forms available from the SRMC.
