September Spring Hill School Board Meeting
The Spring Hill School Board met in the Elementary Conference room on Monday, September 11th. After the call to order and the prayer, the minutes from the previous meeting were approved as was the financial report.
The Elementary School principal reported on the enrollment numbers with a total of 354 in the elementary and total numbers ranging from 16 in Pre-K to 53 in 2nd and 6th grades.
Morning and After School Tutoring began on September 5th. The District offers morning sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays and afternoon sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Progress Reports were sent home September 14th.
Also mentioned was the Grandparents Breakfast sponsored by State Farm which had the dates K-2 Sept. 19, 3/4 Sept. 20th, 5/6 Sept. 21st, PreK Sept. 22nd.
Teacher Evaluations and lockdown procedures were discussed.
The High School principal reported a total enrollment of 287 students, ranging from 35 in the 10th grade to 55 in 9th and 12th grades.
Several students were involved with County Fair Premium Sale. Homecoming is one the 29th of September. Progress Reports went out on the 12th of September and the first FCA luncheon was the 13th of September. The District hosted a Suicide Awareness Assembly on Sept. 8th and it was noted Mrs. Moore did a fantastic job organizing it. UAHT has developed the Hempstead Guarantee which gives any graduating Senior an opportunity to receive their first year of college free.
For the administrative report: Expenditures over $5,000 included a “Shoot-A-Way” basketball machine quote and a discussion on welding.
The Board Finance Training Date will be 12-14-23.
