Spring Hill team wins Livestock Eval contest

HOT SPRINGS — Members of the Spring Hill FFA Chapter received championship honors in the State FFA Livestock Evaluation Career Development Event (CDE) during the 2024 Arkansas FFA State Convention, April 22-24.
Team members include Anna Sweat, Gatlin Priddy, Kiersten Priddy and Cooper Plyer.
The Spring Hill FFA advisor is Shane Plyer.
The team will represent Arkansas in the Livestock Evaluation CDE at the National FFA Convention in October.
This award is sponsored on the state level by the Arkansas FFA Foundation.
The Livestock Evaluation CDE is designed to help students learn to evaluate beef cattle, sheep, goats and swine based on physical characteristics. Additionally, participants evaluate records for breeding and market usage. The participants also give oral reasons explaining their choices of alignment for certain classes.
FFA is an integral part of the Agricultural Education division in the Arkansas Department of Career
Education. The Arkansas FFA Association has more than 15,900 members and 229 chapters. The
