Two Puppies Saved After Falling In Well

Multiple first responders responded to a report of two puppies that fell into an abandoned well Thursday in Hempstead County and fortunately the puppies were rescued.  Two puppies apparently dug into a small hole made by an animal and eventually got it large enough to fall into an abandoned well which had been covered.  The owner heard them, dug into the hole and discovered they had fallen into an abandoned well which been covered.  Responding to the puppies’ plight was the Spring Hill Volunteer Fire Department, the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Department, the Hempstead County Fire Service Coordinator, and Mackey Brown.  The incident occurred off highway 29 south about 7 miles south of Hope in the Spring Hill fire coverage area.
