HOPE – The City of Hope Street Department crews are currently demolishing the former Village Shopping Center to make room for a new fire station.
Heavy equipment is on-site demolishing the structure and sorting debris into piles before it is hauled away. Much of the material will be processed at a local recycling center or repurposed for various uses. Local residents can expect increased truck traffic and construction activity for several weeks as the property is cleared.
Further updates on construction of the new fire station are expected later this spring.
