HOPE – The Hope ConneXion: Pray for our new Lay Ministers! We would like to congratulate our three new Lay Ministers; Kayla Tonya Schenk & Corey and Stephanie Stout. We cannot wait to see what God does in your ministries!
Lay ministers in the Church of the Nazarene are members called to specialized, non-ordained ministry, validated by a Certificate of Lay Ministry. They serve as teachers, lay evangelists, staff members, or bi-vocational leaders, supporting the church’s mission while not pursuing ordination. This recognized role emphasizes using spiritual gifts for church service.
Steps to Becoming a Lay Minister in the Hope ConneXion COTN:
1) Feel a call to specialized service.
2) Be a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
3) Receive recommendation from the local pastor (we also include the church boards recommendation)
4) Complete required training or educational courses (at least 2 per year from https://discipleshipplace.org/)
These three were just elected to the Hope ConneXion Administrative board. We are so proud to see them already in service providing leadership in the Kingdom. May God continually bless them!
