Hope Housing Authority Most Recent Meeting

HACOH (Hope Housing Authority) held its monthly meeting in March. After It was concluded there was quorum, the minutes and the financial reports were approved. Lashun Bland presented the operations report and answered questions.
Resolutions 2026-03 and 2026-04 passed. The first resolution amended 2026 Fair Market Rents for Public Housing and Resolution 2026-04 related to Bank signature cards.
An update on Kelly Homes and Hopewell were given. The burn units are approximately 25% complete. Repairs were expected to begin on the following Monday at cost of $4,500 per square unit.
The organizational transition is progressing well however adjustments to roles and responsibilities may occur in the future.
David reported that the previous Executive Director elected to leave the insurance pool in an effort to reduce  costs. However, Municipal, the provider selected, doesn’t offer cyber liability or public officials coverage and agency was left without coverage since January. David recommended rejoining the insurance pool to immediately restore comprehensive coverage. The cost will be prorated for the rest of the year.
